Colt Python E Nickel

I've got an unfired Colt Python that I bought years ago, that I believe was manufactured in the mid 80's. The gun looks like a brushed stainless finish, but the box says E Nickle. I'm guessing this means electroplated nicke, and was an alternative to a blued gun. The origonal tags are on the gun, and it is in the origonal box with sealed papers.

Does anyone know if many Pythons were made that way, is it unusual, and what is an approximate value to ask for the gun?

E nickel- means "electroless nickel"

Quite a few firearms (especially Colt's) were done this way. I once owned
a NIB Colt Trooper MK-V that had this finish on it; and Colt simply called
it Coltguard, a low lustre matte type finish that kind'a resembles
stainless steel.

Sorry, but I can't be of much help on the quanity of Pythons made in
E-nickel; but if truly mint (NIB UNFIRED) probably $900 would be a fair
price.

The finish wasn't unusual, or particularly desired. Stainless steel eventually pushed it out of existance. Pricing would be the same as any other model, but they don't sell quite as fast as the other finishes.
