You can probably find it cheaper at a gun show. I have seen them for $499. Count on then taking it and having the edges knocked off if you are planning on using it as a carry weapon, so keep in mind the extra cost of having this done.

I really liked the look of the Pocket Nine when the magazines started reviewing it, but Colt took it out of production so fast that I'd worry about spare parts, mags and such. A good design crippled by a company's gutlessness.

I actually bought a new Pocket Nine about six weeks ago.

It was reasonably light, and about the same size as my Glock 27.

But the trigger was *awful*. Extremely long pull, very creepy, with an uneven build-up in tension.

I thought I could get used to it, but I couldn't. And between that and the fact that I looked through numerous magazine dealers without finding *any* mags for the pistol..., well, I traded it a week after buying it, for a Kahr MK40 Elite.

I bought a Mustang II last year that ended up needing warranty service. It was a horror story. Colt doesn't want your business.

Ledbetter

The Colt Pocket Nine had a lot of potential and I liked it better than the MK9 since it had a repeat striker capability which the MK9 does not have. However, I didn't buy it (and would not buy it) because of it's serious reliability issues and I bought the MK9 instead which has functioned flawlessly. If Colt would have got the bugs out of it, the Pocket Nine would have given the MK9 a good run for the money.

I looked at one for kicks about 6 months ago. The crappiest trigger pull I've ever put my finger on. Gritty as sandpaper.

And with Colt seeking only LE and military sales, I wouldn't buy one.

For pocket or subcompacts, you've got Kahr K9/M9 - not the P9 - it's a piss poor ugly step child of a gun compared to the K9. Instead of backwards engineering a K9 to accpet a polymer frame, they should have started fresh. You've got Glock 26. You've got HK's P7.

Looks of good 9mm subcompacts. Why buy a gun with a crappy trigger and not customer support for civilians? I say SCREW Colt even though their AR-15s are sharp.
