Colt officers ACP enhanced

I have always liked the look anf feel of compact 1911.
Recently I saw one for sale. It is the Colt
Officers ACP anhanced. The gun is preowned/unfired. It has mirror-bright stainess finish and some features added at the factory, such as full beavertail grip safety, skeletonized hummer, lovered and flared ejection port, undercut trigger guard and flat slide top. The feeding ramp is not polished and internal machinning is typical series 80 Colt.
The gun is $650 :(
Should I or should I not?
What is the general opinion about these guns?
Reliability?
Durability?
Any suggestions on improovement?

(I know, Kimber is better gun, but in the Massachusetts Sociallist Republic Kimbers along with mos tother guns are not for sale at this time due to the dictate by our Reichmagistratte Klerk (AG))

Is this a steel gun or alloy? My carry piece is a lightweight Colt Officers ACP. I really like it. It is flat and very concealable. It is also light so I can carry all day with out a problem. For me a steel Officers would be too heavy for a carry gun , I might as well carry a Government Model.
They are very nice guns IMHO. If you buy it you probably would want to change out the barrel plug, as they are prone to breakage. Kins or Ed Brown have good replacement parts.
The price is about right for a Colt in this day and age.
Good luck. Just my $.0-2

Greetings Tovarich,

I own a Colt Combat Commander and just bought an Officers' in bright stainless from a guy in N.Y., but haven't received it yet. They are heavier than some available carry guns.

If the gun is in unfired condition, that is a good price. You will not regret the purchase. I plan to add Novak sights to mine.

Good luck,

Ledbetter

Oktagon - I have a stainless all steel Officer's enhanced just as you describe. Got it last year for $600 with four colt magazines. Bought it from a friend who only put 50 rounds through the pipe.

I sent mine to Steve Clark Custom for a total reliability package and replaced the plastic trigger and mainspring housing.

Mine shoots like a dream and I highly recommend you pick up that one - you won't regret it.

Thank you everyone for responses.
I picked the gunup today. Apparently it came with 3 mags. 1 Colt and 2 Wilson 7 rounders.
I have not fired it yet, but it appears to chamber hollow points up on "cold cycling"
The gun is truly beutifful. The only problem that mirror finish is very prone to finger stains.
The grips are Colt, but they are some kind of imitation stag (wood really) but done very well. I may change them to checkered because they are too smooth.
