i got a colt mustang 380. plus II not a big gun guy and im trying to find the best way to sell it to get the most value out of it any help?? gun shop told me it was in great shape and everything in working order. SN# RR33275 its blued with black grips.

Check GunBroker and several of the other Internet auction sites for current pricing. remember to check the sold area not the for sale area, doing so will give you an idea of its' value. You may also want to check the Colt Forum for pricing info. Also it really helps to have pictures, and to mention if you have any accessories that came with your Mustang.

COLT

alright that was very helpful.i just went to the local gun shop and just found out it was made in 1993 and is in good to great condition i have no paperwork or hard case for it so im not sure what to ask for it in its condition with no paperwork or hard case. i guess just aim high and start dropping the price down??

COLT

im just going to ask 600 for it thats about what im seeing them online for in its condition with 2 clip's and 75 rounds colt mustang 380. plus II MK IV series made in 1993. does that sound about fare? anyone??

even for a plus II?? and thank you. i havent put it up for sale yet. im kinda hosed because the guy i got it for told me it was alot older than it is and worth alot more. what do you think i should ask for it with the info i provided??

even for a plus II??

Yes, they are a little rarer than the other versions, so you might ask a little more. One thing to be aware of is that Colt has just reintroduced a version of this gun, so in the last couple of months it is no longer as rare as it once was. Now, this does not mean there are not folks who would like to have your gun, but just something to keep in mind.

As for price all I can say is simply look at the various on-line auction sites and list accordingly. Maybe someone else will chime in with a more accurate idea later tonight.

ok thanks barry. i just got of the phone with a guy a colt firearms who told me the value of the plus II shouldnt deplete much if at all with there new introduction of the mustang because there not making the plus II with the new line of mustangs. and im having a hard time finding one with no documents that is for sale ill ive seen like my gun they have all the paperwork and original hard case and people are asking from 7 to 1200 $ for the same gun. so im really not sure what to ask. i dont want to try and pull one over on someone i just want to get full value of the gun.

^^^ What he said.

I've seen NIB Colt Gov't .380's with $800 and $900 price tags on them... but they are there every time because on one is paying that for them. $600 is a more reasonable asking price, and I would rather have an earlier Colt (in fact, I DO... ) than one of the new ones, and I'm sure there will be interest out there for it.

...but just remember, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

You may want to sell the gun on one of the auction sites, Auction Arms, Gunbroker, etc. You can set a starting price of $500. or so and see how high it gets or not. If you want you can set a minimum that you will not go below. This will allow you to see how much the piece is worth in the condition that you offer it in. Clear, non blurry pics are a must.

I've seen these guns sell locally with the original box and papers and two mags in excellent condition in the 600-700 range.
