Colt Mustang Pocketlite Recoil Spring

Hi guys!
I'm back. We had to cut the vacation short because my bad back went out.
When we got home, I took my guns out of the safe to reload and check for rust and anything else I didn't want. When I came to the Mustang and worked the slide, it seemed to be too easy. Made me wonder if the stock recoil spring has lost some "uumph". For those that have Mustangs, did you ever go to a heavier recoil spring?

Thanks,

Called Wolff this AM and...

..ordered a 12 lb., one piece recoil spring. One pound heavier than stock. I don't believe one pound will make much of a difference, however it maybe will cut down on wear on the alloy frame and I can use some more powerful ammo. I'd like to try that Triton "Quik-Shok", but I just looked at the Triton website and it seems to come only in +P. If anyone has tried Q-S (especially in .380), I like to read your opinion.

Thanks,
KR

I am a big fan of the Pocketlite and the Mustang.

Another poster here recommended Quik Shok after some fairly extensive real life testing, ie inert objects and observed results.

He said the quik shok was the most effective round he had seen in comparison to many other defensive rounds.

So I got some and tried it out in my Pony's and the Mustang.

It definitely has more snap than any other round I have tried so far but it is absolutely tamed by the locked breech of the Pony and Mustang. Totally controllable, easy to shoot. No pain with the recoil.

Excellent round for a .380 with a locked breech. Can't comment on the blowback guns because I don't have one anymore.

I also tried it in my Pocket Nine and in my Kahr MK 40.

It is almost too much for the Pocket Nine as the recoil is so great as to make a quick second shot much slower to follow up on.

It is also right at the limit for my preferences on the MK40. It is just such a powerful round that the recoil is almost unmanageable by me.

Your mileage, of course, may vary. But I am sure you will be impressed with it in the .380 size.
