Colt model info

I recently was shown two Colt revolvers that I had heard of, but know very little about.
Any info would be appreciated.
The owner didn't want me to take photos, so here's the description.
Metropolitan Police, 4in .38 Special, it looks like a Mk3 Trooper. The finish is a satin blue.
Border Patrol Mk3, 4in .357mag. I can't see a difference between it and a Trooper.
The internet only says they are variants of the Trooper.
Any info is appreciated, to solve my curiosity.
 
I believe the Border Patrol model is a normal Mk3 with BP roll marks. The Metro is, of course, a 38 with MP roll marks. Other than that there's no difference, just cosmetics.
 
Thanks, near as I can tell, Colt was trying to fight for police contracts.
They only other info was that they were built between 1969 and 1983.
 
Don't know about theguns, but if there for sale and the owner doesn't want pictures - I'd be wary.
 
The guns are part of an estate. I've known the owner for over 10 years, he doesn't want any of his stuff photographed.
It is his right, and I have to respect his wishes.
