Rodger, you have been bitten by the Colt madness bug too.
Buy two more Colts and see a doctor in the morning. Even though there is no immediate cure for it, the buying process will slow down a little after you have three of each kind of Colt ever made.
Good luck...
Can you say, "Hi, my name is Rodger. I am a Colt-a-holic."
BEAUTIFUL! CONGRATULATIONS! Pytons have to be one of the most beautiful firearms ever made and the way they balance in your hand, the slickness of the action...magnificent. A target ought to consider it an honor to be shot by one.
Between your Python and the CZ, you have had a very good day! I have a NIB 1980 MY python. There are many times I wish it had been previously fired so I could enjoy shooting one of these masterpieces! Oh well, maybe it's just a good excuse to get a gently used one to shoot... Congratulations.
WHAT a beauty!!! Congratulations!! The Python - the OLD Python - is truly a work of art!!! I had an old 6" blue Python that like a FOOL I traded off
I have scoured every table at every gun show looking for a replacement, but have not yet found one that has grabbed me; the few I have seen are almost $1000.00
I did get a consolation prize this week - a new S&W model 25 blue 4" in .45 Colt. I am very pleased with it except for the HEAVY trigger pull.
"And what vast pool of scientific data are you basing that statement on?"
From Colt. They will not guarantee the action job done on a Python by their custom shop if the pistol is fired regularly with .357 Magnum cartridges. If I had a Python I would shoot it only with .38 Specials and load it with ,357s if I were going to carry it for self defense. You may do what you please.
