Colt Lawman MKIII

My LGS has a Colt Lawman MKIII for sale for $500.00 Blued, four inch barrel and orig. grips. I have checked the internet but can't find much on pricing for one. Anybody have some idea of a price on one?? thanks for any help y'all can give me.
 
My favorite revolver of all time is my Colt Lawman MK III 2". This is a very robust revolver. If it was near me I would pay $500. The only weakness is the firing pin. It is made out of sintered metal. If it breaks only Colt has the special jig to replace it. Sintered metal was an early version of MIM. Parts. I always use snap caps when I dry fire.

I'm going tomorrow to pick up some buffalo bore low flash rounds for my model 37,I think I'll put a down payment ont it.
 
Colt Lawman MkIII

I just paid $525.00 + tax = $647.00 OTD last week for a Trooper Mk III six-inch in Coltguard finish. It's a fine looking revolver. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Mk III for the price you quoted.

Is it reblued? Is the timing good? All this effect value. post some pics and we can help. Colt DA's are no longer made and will not depriciate if you buy it right. Hence is it reblued.

I paid $300 6 months ago for my 99% MK III trooper and have turned down $650 for it a week after I bought it.
 
Ok.. so I went today to get the ammo, but it is'nt in till this afternoon. I looked again at the Colt, the price is $550.00 not $500.00 But it locks up tight, and has nice blueing and that that really sold me so I put it on lay away.
 
I picked up a Colt Trooper MKIII from 1975 in a pawn shop for $500 OTD couple of months ago. Nothing like a Colt IMHO.

The Mark III series began in 1969 when Colt changed over to a different manufacturing process. The action is much more S&W like than the older V spring action. What they produced was an extremely strong robust revolver that shoots great. The only caution is that dry firing can damage the firing pin and it's a Factory ONLY replacement. If you use snap caps you'll be fine and your revolver will probably outlast you and maybe your children.
 
I have always liked the Lawman Series. In the early '80's. one of my old field Sgt's had one and it was dead nuts on to 50 yards with full-snort 158 grain .357 loads. I tried in vain for five years to pry him loose from it.
 
This one was priced for $500.00 three years ago in a local pawnshop. I traded a Luger for it. It was worth it. I concur with those recommending Snap Caps. Well worth the investment.

You got a truly nice Lawman MK III there! You are lucky that you didn't delay in snapping that "Beauty" up! Congratulations! A good price too!:)

I picked up these two "Beauties" awhile back. The snubbie is a MK III and the 4" is a MK V-both are in mint condition. The combat stocks on the 4" MK V came standard only on the MK V with the 4" barrel:
