Hi, all,

If you have a Colt Woodsman or Huntsman, could you please let me know what you think of this gun? What are its strengths and weaknesses? (Shooting, stripping, cleaning... basically everything. :))

Thanx,

Mine - Woodsman MT 4.5" 3rd - is probably the prettiest gun I own. It is fairly light, very handy, points like a finger. Like any good quality .22, it is more accurate than I can hold it. It is a little picky as to ammo. Mine likes WW SuperX better than T22 or other standard velocity, target, or match ammo.

I use mine for fun plinking and new shooter introduction. I have long wanted a holster for it and now there is a holster maker in my club. I will be talking to him.

It is not competitive as a target pistol with High Standard and S&W M41. It is lighter in weight and does not have as good a trigger pull.

Takedown requires removing the grips and pushing out the MSH retaining pin. I guess you could leave it out, the prewar guns did not have one.
