Colt Gold Cup .38

Anyone know anything good or bad about the Colt Gold Cup .38 wadcutter pistol?

Have heard good things about the M52 Smith, but haven't read anything on the Colt.

My son-in-law has a line on one and if they are any good, I would like to get one for target.

They have gotten very collectable. I don't have my book with me, but I think they went out of production around 1975. If the price is right you might be able to pick it up and sell it for a profit when you are done with it. All of the standard accurizing techniques used on the .45 ACP version will work on the .38 special.

The Colt Gold Cup .38 Special is a fine gun. It is a dedicated target gun and shoots .38 special wadcutters. The magazines only take 5 rounds. These guns were made back in the days when Colt took pride in their target pistols and every one that I have ever handled has been factory hand fitted and finished...very smooth action. They are real tack drivers with the right ammunition. In good shape with both magazines they are worth close to $1,000.00
