That's right folks, those purveyors of overpriced crapola stamped with a prancing pony are discontinuing the 1991s, pythons and other DA revolvers, as well as their other semis. They will only make single action revolvers and high end 1911s. This has been posted at Glock Talk under general non-glocking. The post included a copy of the Fax dated 10/5/99 on Colt letterhead stationary. The original sight has been referenced from the GT sight and linked as well.

It appears genuine, but I'd call Colt for further info. This means they will either retool for CNC for the discontinued guns, or are in such bad shape that they must discontinue money losers to stay afloat. I have a Python in Hartford now and will ask the repair shop guys tomorrow. Also, the top dogs have been reshuffled. Sliwa out, Keys in.

or are they playing 3 card monte?
kill the lawsuits by divesting the main company, start 3 other companies, screw the union, move out of the old factory, sell the designs of the discontinued guns to another company. get govt funding to explore the icolt pipedream, wait awhile, buy the company you sold the designs to.

start all over
with a clean slate
buy FN
buy HK...

there is a theory that 10 years from now there will be 5 automobile manufacturers world wide.

same could be true for this industry
these guys are international finance sharks...
