Colt Experts Please Help

I have recently purchased a first issue Colt Trooper and a second issue Colt Detective Special. I know the Trooper was made from 1953-1969 and the Special was made from 1947-1972, but wanted more specific info. The Trooper is 712xx and the Special is M356xx. Do you guys know the year of production based on this info or where I might be able to purchase a guide with this info ?

I'm not an expert, but this is what I have found.

The Trooper 712XX would have been made in 1968. The first serial number that year was 67500 and the first serial number for 1969 was 80800.

I'm showing the Detective Special serial running the same as the Police Positive Special after 1927. That said, your M356XX would have been made in 1976, since the range that year was from M29601-M51999.
