Got a very nice birthday present from my father. A really clean .38 Sp. Diamondback, blue, with a 4 inch barrel. Has 3 very minor rust blemishes toward the muzzle end of the barrel. Otherwise, looks about 98%. My father had gotten it some time ago in an estate sale and he says there was about half a box of ammo with it, which he fired. He believes that that one box of ammo is the sum total run through the gun. Has the box and original papers and the 3 blade Colt screwdriver with it.
I'm assuming it is from the mid 60s since the original Kmart price sticker is still on the box and it's been a long time since Diamondbacks (even at Kmart) were $115.
The serial number is D169**. If anyone can give me an approximate date of manufacture - or point me to a reference source - I'd really appreciate it.
