Just picked up a 1973 Colt Detective Special at my local Cabelas. Other than some holster wear at the muzzle and on the trigger guard, the little revolver functions perfectly.
With a previously owned J Frame Model 60, I fell in love with the Desantis Flex Tuk holster. They are made to fit Smith J Frames and Taurus Model 85s.
Wondering if they would also fit the Colt? Granted, the Colt is a 6 shot with a D Frame, but the Flex Tuk has a pretty open top design that squeezes from the sides. Also, several holsters designed for the Ruger SP101 are also designated for the Colt DS.
Any advice on whether anyone has had this combo work (either the Colt DS and the Flex Tuk or the SP101 and the Flex Tuk), and if so, which model holster would fit the best- one made for the Js or for the 85?
