I have recently purchased a Defender. I am interested in other people's experience with this gun in regards to factory hollowpoint ammunition, especially the +P ammo. I can't seem to find any of my magazines that address this issue . Thanks in advance
 
A point on alloy-frame 1911's.

It's best to find something it likes to feed out of the box, because an over-enthusiastic ramp polishing can remove the hard anodized surface of the feedramp exposing the softer aluminum underneath, which can then get pretty roughed up by case mouths and some JHP designs (most notably the Golden Saber).

230gr HydraShoks and 185gr Silvertips seem to be among the feed-friendlier .45 JHP's out there.
