Colt DA 38 lightning basket

Boy do I need help
I recently received a gift from a friend.? It was a completely disassembled Colt Double action 38 lightning?
Anyway I cleaned all of the pieces and its in really good shape for the shape it's in.
Is there any kind of video or anything out there that shows you how to put this gun together?
Any and all help will be appreciated. The gun has about 20% blue and case colors on it.
Any idea on its value?

The Colt Double Action shares a lot of similarity with the Colt SAA, a diagram of that is a good place to start.

Sorry, but aside from some general outward appearances, there is no similarity at all between the SAA and the Model 1877 Double Action. The latter is one of the most complex revolvers ever put on the market, and one that can get out of order very easily even from normal wear.

I know of no decent instructions on that gun except a section in the old NRA Firearms Assembly Handbook, which is pretty good. Try contacting the NRA and see if that book is still in print, and if so, buy it. It is dated now, not having info on the latest plastic pistols, but it is still one of the best for disassembly/reassembly of long guns and handguns.

Check Amazon and eBay. They're out there and fairly reasonable. There appears to be more than one volume.

Volume l was for long guns.
Volume ll was for handguns.

Maybe there is a later edition, but my copy of Antique Firearms does not include the Model 1877, though it does include another Colt disaster, the Model 1878 Double Action Army.
