I have become a Police Positive collector. More than three IS a collection, right? I am looking for better grips for these retired weapons. Any suggestions?

Colt D frame grips?

I haven't seen much for these D frames anywhere. I think they are pretty much out of production, discontinued and out of stock from suppliers. I was hoping someone would say their local store had some.

The problem with older Police Positive grips is that in the mid-1950's Colt changed the grip frame to the new "stubby" design.
Since the newer guns have a shorter grip frame, all the grip makers changed over to that design.
Few production grip makers offer grips to fit the old full-profile frames these days.
So, the only choices are, find older grips, or have custom grips made.
