I'm a new guy and probably am posting in the wrong place, but I NEED one of those Colt Cowboy S/A revolvers so I can retire grandad's original.
Anybody have any comments or suggestions ?
Need the price too so I can start saving.
Thanks, Bill

I haven't seen a Colt Cowboy yet, but I can tell you what to watch for. Colt has had a problem for years with oversized cylinder throats. After WWII the gun industry standardized bullet diameter for the .45 Colt. For some reason Colt has never changed the cylinder throat size in the SAA and the sloppy throats have caused poor accuracy. To check this- remove the cylinder from the gun and drop a standard size lead bullet through each chamber. It should hang up at the throat or at least have some resistance. If it falls straight through, don't expect much in the way of accuracy.
If you get your hands on one, let me know how it turns out. I'm interested in buying one too, but I need to know about the throats first.
BTW: the listed retail price is $600 which is about half the price of the Single action army.
