Colt Combat Commander

I just got a Colt Satin Combat Commander in a trade. The serial # is 70SC33xxx Where can I go to find info on this pistol? I was going to do some customizing but it looks so good I hate to cut on it. The slide stop, thumb safety & grip safety are blued and looks good against the satin pistol...was it made like this? What is this pistol worth? Thanks for any info!

My Colt serial number list shows that it was made in 1974. I know that Colt put blue small parts on the 70 series Government, but never saw them on a box stock electro nickle Commander. I would leave it alone if I were you, collector interest is growing in the 70 series pistols, but not if they are cut up any...........

Ive got one s/n 70SC472XX. I would say that the blue parts are replacements. Even if original, it would be a hard sell to a buyer.

Mine was made in '71. They had all nickle parts.
