Colt clone grip installation

I recently purchased a Cimarron Arms Pietta Frontier .45 colt, a great Colt SAA clone. I want to replace the walnut grips with some simulated ivory antique grips, I ordered.
This is a one piece grip assembly. My gun has a butt plate screw only. I need some advice on the easiest and proper way to install these grips, especially if they need some fitting adjustments. Thanks.

"one piece grip" typically arrives in 3 cps. two grip panels and a "block" that is glued internally.
to install you only need to remove existing grips and roll pin. fit your new grips to frame and and mark the hole for the roll pin. drill out the grips for the roll pin and and epoxy the grips to the block, one side at a time. put a thin coat of vaseline on the frame so the epoxy won't stick to it. you can fine tune the fir after the glue sets.

Which is the one piece grip, the new or the old? The way I read it, the grip that is on the gun is one-piece. If so, you have to remove the backstrap to remove them. You would also have to remove the backstrap to put one-piece grips on, and also remove the stock pin.

If the new grips are one piece, I don't understand Oldjarhead's advice. One piece grips don't/can't use a stock pin, and if one is installed it has to be removed before installing one-piece grips. If a stock pin is in there and the grips fitted before gluing them, the grips can never be removed without breaking them off.
