Colt CCG 1911

Hey yall. Almost a year ago I purchased a Colt CCG 1911 and have never posted pics nor did I ever give any feedback on my experiences with it. This has been my carry gun ever since purchase, and wouldn't trade it for anything. I have never experienced any malfunction other than a handful related to the POS Colt 8 round magazine (flush fit). So far I estimate I have ran approximately 5-600 rounds through it, again with no malfunctions other than those I determined were related to the above magazine. This 1911 continues to amaze me at how accurate it is. It is literally POA/POI anywhere to 25 yards. I did have my smith install a nighthawk medium length trigger, and adjust the trigger pull.....which is around 4-4.5 pounds, and extremely smooth. Anyway, enough talkin'.....

Well it's not a $2000 gun.....retails for $950 now, I got mine for about $850. It has Novak rear with a green fiber optic front. It also has a National Match barrel (marked on the barrel hood). As well as the obvious beavertail grip safety and extended thumb safety. The CCG is a Talo edition, Custom Carry Government.

CCG actually stands for Colt Custom Government . That's what Colt called it in their 2013 catalog , the only Colt catalog in which it appeared . Not sure what Talo called it . To me , doesn't make much sense to call a 5 inch steel- framed gun "Carry" . Sent mine to Alchemy for polishing an re-bluing the slide. Also had front strap checkered and ejection port flared .

Of Colt's recent offerings , the CCG and the Wiley Clapp Govt are my favorites .
Kind of wish they had made the CCG a Series 70 but no biggie .

I thought it was the Combat Government. Which have been retail over the Gold Cup for as long as they came out. About 2004, I made up a guess. Is it not the Colt Combat Government? Looks like an ugly XSE, maybe that's not nice.

Looks like an aluminum trigger though, sweet and better sights than the 1991. Which Colt is worth the extra over some of the variants, As mine went bang for 70 shots and on target as best I could. I still want another as I'm back in the collecting 1911s. I'm thinking S70 Gold Cup, blue 1991, Les Baer a low end one.

Many things you have the beavertail, extended slide release. You have a great gun sorry to be negative in my post. I've just owned so many I think I know something and someone might listen. But I don't mean to put anyone down or offend.

1969Colt1911 - Maybe you should quit while you're ahead. Or think more before you type.

Georgian - Great looking piece, nicely personalized, everything you need and nothing you don't.
I've got a number of 1911s but my Colts are my favorites. Just ordered one of the new lightweight Wiley Clapp Commanders, the one without the front cocking serrations, should be here next week.
