LGS here in Switzerland showed me this nice cased pair of Colt Army special made in 1915 and delivered to an Englishman in caliber .38 special rater than .38/200 (.38 S&W) that was prevalent in GB.

406026 was certainly a carry gun as it shows a lot of external wear

Whereas 402027 is in very good condition for a 106 years old gun

He is selling the pair for $ 2650.-. I am not buying them but thought I’d show them here.

I had an unfired example. made in 1912, and decided it should be with someone who wouldn't be tempted to shoot it. Sold it for $325 . . . 20 years ago.

Nice pair of Colts. I really like the cased set.
30 years ago I had a very good 4 inch Army Special that was built in 1920.
I traded it for my first Model 28 S&W.

Mine was made in 1921, IIRC.

It looks just like those two, but kinda beat-up.

It's a good shooter.

That is a beautiful set of revolvers.

I have a 6" made in 1910 and it is in pretty nice shape - I enjoy sooting it once in a while. I bought mine because the Colt Army Special came out in 1908 - the same year my Dad was born and Henry Ford brought out the Model T. In 1927, the name was changed from Army Special to Official Police - my Dad graduated from high school in 1927.

Sometimes you just need a good excuse to buy a nice old Colt!

Classic 12 - thanks for the nice photos - they are certainly a good looking pair!
