colt anaconda hand?

My anaconda is out of time and I can't find an oversized hand for it anywhere.

I have tried brownells, numrich, gunbroker, guns america, auction arms, and colt themselves. Colt has it but won't sell it without them installing it for $53 an hour plus $30 shipping and will not even tell me the price of the hand until it is installed.

Any help is welcomed.
 
A good gunsmith would TIG weld up the area of the hand where it is too small and file and fit it to the gun. Or he might just make one if it is simple enough out of thicker stock. Maybe the solution is to find a good gunsmith to do the work or order the part for you from Colt, for a fee of course.

Anaconda hand

Try Jan Matlega in CT 860-229 6872. No web page, or even email, but I think he has a barn full of Colt revolver parts!
Another route is to pound the h out of it with a hammer and that may stretch it enough if it's short timed.
 
The Anaconda hand can't be stretched for two reasons.

1. The LENGTH of the Anaconda hand isn't important, it's the THICKNESS.
The later Colt's like the Anaconda work more like S&W and Ruger's and it's the thickness of the hand that pushes the cylinder to full lock up. Stretching the hand will do nothing.

2. The later Colt hands are made of sintered steel. Try to bend or stretch them and they just break.

Since the Anaconda was a low production revolver, Colt didn't make many spare parts. Most of the remaining parts are being retained by Colt for use in repairing customer guns.
In any case, what's needed is a special over-sized hand, of which Colt made very few.
Colt won't sell these to anyone, including parts houses.

If you need an Anaconda repaired, send it in to Colt. They have the parts and special tools and knowledge.
