A friend of mine has a 7 inch antique Colt BP cartridge revolver he bought in Alaska from a fellow worker there just before the war broke out in 41. He has taken exceptionally good care of it and having handled it myself I believe it to be very good condition with some holster wear is all. Action is tight and lock up tight. I believe this is the type revolver Custer carried on his last patrol in Montana territory and you all know the rest of that story.
My friend is in his mid-8o's and now would like to part with this firearm. He wants more than I can muster and thinks it is worth a lot of money. Does anyone have a reference that would give him some documentation to go by when approaching dealers or private collectors to go by?
Thanks for any suggestions and replies in advance.
