I found a Colt Cobra snubbie 38 at my local gun dealer
he's asking $490.00 used and $575.00 new there are 2 of them. is this a good deal
knowing that they don't make them anymore.
Should I get one before its to late, is this a good future investment
If anyone can tell me there thoughts on anything ......{experiences with this pistol..ect} let me know thank you

If they are the "shrouded" bbl, it is a bit high.

I bought an unfired Diamond back for $385.00 and a good Cobra for $350.00 and danced all the way home.

If you like it buy it! To hell what I think.;)

I don't quite understand the situation, is the gun new or used? Is there just one gun or two (a new one and a used one?)

If it is a new gun never been fired then I would say $575 is a great price. Used, depending on the condition, you could probably get a little better at a gun show. I got about $350 for my second generation issue and have seen other used DS 2cond gen guns at gun shows shows go for $425.

If it is a second generation design, (that is without the ejector rod shroud) the $490 price maybe a tad high, but I would go ahead and grab it as it is becoming a harder thing to come by.

All in all, I am satisfied with mine, it has 6 shots instead of the incomplete S&W snubbie of 5. Like all J frame guns in .38 special it has quite a kick to it so it's not something you will feel like taking down to the range every day and put a box of 50 through it. But it is a nice CHL or backup piece

Those prices are way to high unless the new one is one of the scarce 3 inchers (even then I would have to think long and hard on that price). I see used models all the time in the $300 to $350 range and new models for not much more than $450.
Quite a few shooters find the DS much more enjoyable to shoot than the J-frame S&W. Shooting several boxes of ammo per range session has never been any problem. Of course you shouldn't be shooting +P ammo like that in those revolvers.
