Are there any other marks on it?

Usually, modern mags have a CAGE code on them that tells which manufacturer stamped them.

I noticed in an earlier post you had a SP1. Maybe those mags were before the CAGE code system was developed.

Try googling "circle 1 colt mags". There are a couple of threads on arfcom that mention them. I can't get to them through the filter at work.:(

My best guess would be early manufacturing die mark.

Colt probably didn't manufacture their magazines then either, and that mark let them know who to blame if there was a problem with them. :o

Current Colt 20rd Magazines are made by Okay/NHMTG according to the CAGE code stamped on them.

My best guess is pre-CAGE code era manufacturers mark. I know prior to the early 80's it wasn't called a CAGE code, I don't know for sure when CAGE codes started. I know that 60's era M-14 mags have a makers stamp, but no CAGE codes. (Like KMT or BRG-1 for Borg Warner)

I know there is a demand for them on "retro" rifles.

I wonder if Colt would tell you?
