If you want a 1911 of "classic" format, not necessarily "G.I.", I think it's the best pistol on the market.
I have one of the old M1991A1TM guns from the '90s, and also have one of the "New Roll Mark" guns from the noughties, and they're both good.
Colt uses more forged and barstock parts, and fewer cast and MIM parts than most makers, and, well, it's the real deal.
If you want a gun with a beavertail, different sights, etc., get a gun with that stuff already on it.
