Colt 1876 BP Hammer Work needed.

I have a wonderful old Colt 1876 BP frame revolver in 45 Colt.

It was restore/hobby/lifetime tinker gun for the old guy who once owned it.

Yup, chromed in 50's, buffed beforehand, ala Lone Ranger/ Roy Rogers 50's TV Shows. A crime by itself, but it is still an Old Colt.

Anyways, the half-cock,full cock notches on the original but chromed hammer are wasted. It full cocks and fire/trigger pulls fine, I have shot it with the previous owner using his special corn meal filled loads....

But the half cock is gone. The hammer is really buggered from years of "tinkering by the hobbyist". AKA... butchered.

I know there are smith's that have the jig to recut after welding/building it up. I can get the final fit done, so sending this heirloom anywhere is not an option at all.

I just need to know who can do the weld and jig cut if I send them the hammer.

Any suggestions , I really hate holding the hammer half back and unloading.

Thanks.

Yup, 1873 made in 1876,

Well , I would like the original hammer repaired.

But I am going to take a look at the replacement for shooting.

Thanks.
