Colored lenses for shooting glasses

I like everyone else have always worn my safety glasses. However I've only ever wore clear or dark polarized lenses. Is there and what if any is the benefit to orange, yellow, or other colored lenses?

Yes the amber or yellow lenses make a huge difference on an overcast day. The color increases contrast and makes thing stand out better. I use some shade of amber every time I shoot. It also depends what color your target is and what color the background is. You have to get as much contrast as your can. Polarized lenses can filter out almost all of the glare (depending on your angle to the sun).
