Colonial Fowler

Fantastic! Your grandson is going to treasure that the rest of his life! Beautiful work . . . graceful lines . . . . I'll bet it melts like butter in your arms!

Well the grandson has about 14 years to grow into it, until then, Grandpa gets to have some fun! Thanks for the comments. I'm really pleased with it. Had to reconfigure the shelves in my safe just so it would fit in there.

Very fine.
The first good fowler I ever saw, I immediately lost interest in the reamed out crowbars they call Kentucky rifles.

I can't see well enough (without modern eyeglasses) to need a rifle anyhow.

While we are admiring Wengler's work....

...I think it is worth while to point out Neolf's great taste.

There is value in knowing real beauty when you see it and Neolf should be congratulated for it.

You are a class act, dude.

You know, looking at this, I'm reminded why I sneer at those who ask me, "Why do you like guns so much? What's the big deal?"
The big deal is the love and effort that went into this piece of engineering art!
There is a beauty in some firearms that just draw your eyes to them.
But don't get me wrong, There taint nuthin rong with a big old black powder revolver that you can yuz ta club your target to death with when empty:D
Beautiful weapon sir. The boy is lucky to have both of you.

Fowlers

i very much like Fowlers. Yesterday, it brought home a pheasant. Mine is a 16 gauge made for me by Mike Brooks.
For my money, the fowler is the most elegant of muzzleloaders....a long and graceful wand.
You have a beautiful gun there.
Pete
