KSFO picks up Metcalf show
First major market affiliate
for WND's talk syndicate
WorldNetDaily's new Internet-based talk radio program with Geoff Metcalf picked up its first major-market affiliate yesterday when San Francisco's 560 KSFO-AM, Metcalf's home for the last five years, announced it would broadcast the show on tape each weekend.
Metcalf's show launches live on the Internet next Monday, July 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific time.
In addition, the first daily, general-interest, national talk show on the Internet will be broadcast live in Sacramento on 1380 KTKZ-AM.
Metcalf, a long-time WorldNetDaily columnist, is the nation's first major-market radio host to launch a daily program whose primary carrier and syndicator is an Internet company, WorldNetDaily.com, Inc.
The program can be heard live on WorldNetDaily's new streaming page -- TalkNetDaily. Broadcast and production partner KTKZ will broadcast two hours of the program live every day to listeners in Northern California, while WorldNetDaily will carry three hours live daily.
The third partner in WorldNetDaily's new streaming venture is WebRadio, whose innovative technology requires no downloads for Internet users already equipped with sound and video cards.
"We're excited about the addition of Metcalf's show exclusively on WorldNetDaily," said founder and CEO Joseph Farah.
"With WorldNetDaily's audience of hundreds of thousands of people, we believe we have the foundation for a successful streaming enterprise of this kind and, eventually, the launching pad for a 24-hour-a-day talk-news network on the Internet."
WorldNetDaily and Metcalf expect to announce more broadcast affiliates for the show in the coming weeks.
KSFO, an ABC-owned station, will carry the program on a delayed basis, rebroadcasting all three hours of the Thursday and Friday programs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time on Saturday and Sunday, beginning Saturday, July 8.
"We are excited to have Geoff's program broadcast over KSFO where he has built a loyal listening audience," said Jack Swanson, KSFO operations manager.
With WorldNetDaily's audience of hundreds of thousands of people, we believe we have the foundation for a successful streaming enterprise of this kind and, eventually, the launching pad for a 24-hour-a-day talk-news network on the Internet.
