So I am using 285 gr standard pressure .45 acp GS in my 1911. I am having a hard time finding a definitive answer on COL for factory loaded ammo in this weight. I am measuring 1.2030 to 1.20. Can you guys help. In the mean time I will keep searching. Having trouble finding a definitive answer.

And if some of you would be so kind I am curious about the average COL for HST .45 ACP 230 gr. Reason I ask is because I usually go though h/d ammo in a semi-quick fasion due to my chambering schedual. I chamber a round for h/d and usually leave it in the chamber but would like to know how many times I can chamber a round I keep a close eye on them with a caliper.

Hope you meant to say 185 vs. 285 gr bullets. I would not worry about how many times you chamber the round(s) especially with you frequently checking the oal.

Set back to a minimum degree is not a big deal. We have had discussions on the forum about this issue. Significant set back is another matter and can raise pressure to a level of concern

I just have a few boxes laying around. Not currently using it. Just would like to know factory COL for it in case I decide to load up with it in a mag or 2, but I agree HST has fed great and is my go to. I am looking for a COL for both HST and Golden Saber but I have so much HST I will just measure all of them and come up with an average. My thinking is to know the minimum safe COL so after chambering a round 2-3 times, I can measure it and if it is still longer in case length than the minimum COL then that round is good for one more chamber in my opinion. The Golden saber I would like to know what the minmum "should" be.
