coil mainsprings

looking for advice on best technique for removing and reinstalling coil mainsprings suich as those on the taurus revolvers. thanks.

Get the revolver disassembly book by JB Wood. Most libraries have a copy.

 

[Kleghorn]

1. Remove the grip.
2. Pull the trigger half way, exposing a small hole on the shaft bellow the spring.
3. Insert a paperclip, push pin, etc. in the hole.
4. Release your finger from the trigger.
5. The coil spring unit should now fall/come out.

Reassembly is the same process in reverse, though a bit more challenging!
