What does the instruction manual say?

It has a thumb safety, which seems to hint at it being safe to carry in condition 1. A YouTube video measures the SAO trigger pull at 12 lb, heavy enough to be safe for carry, but I don't recall anything said about the length of that pull.

I don't see the model or its steel-framed analog, the CA 380, on CA's list of approved handguns. From this I infer that these models failed that state's drop test.

It's certainly affordable and comes with a lifetime warranty. Give Cobra a call and ask if it is safe to carry with a round chambered.
 
I would advise against it. I had a Cobra/Davis .380 years ago and it worked well but the slide cracked after about 100 rounds. Hopefully they have beefed up the Zamak slide a little since then.
 
the newer denali's appear to be better pistols (relative term). there are a few places offering them around $120 and thought it may be an acceptable buy for it's purpose of use, that being an ankle carry and CCW maybe 2-3 times a year, or a book-bag carry gun.
so was wondering if it was safe to carry with a round chambered, tried googling, never really got hits. company web site also seemed devoid of PDF manual.
