coach gun and skeet?

This may be a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway. How do those coach guns work on skeet? I have a maverick 88 with a 28" barrel and it works very well, but the coach gun seems like it would be darn fun.

while i'm on the subject, would it be terribly painful to shoot both barrels at once with birdshot? I wouldn't even consider doing it with slugs or buckshot. Also would the coach gun even bust clays at say 50-70 yards?

Ability to bust clays at longer ranges is more a matter of load and choke than barrel length. Few shots in the real world occur at 70 yards. Most of us shouldn't shoot at living things beyond 50.

Some coach guns have choke built in or are fitted for choke tubes. This enables one to tailor the pattern to some extent for the most likely shot opp.

Both barrels going off at once on a double is traumatic. Not recommended.

I don't shoot skeet formally, me and my buddy just use one of those plastic arm throwers that costs 5 dollars, those things can really launch those clays, they ussually go about 50 yards or so before they do a little boomerang motion and start falling. This would not be for hunting, It just seems like a coach gun would be fun for busting clays, provided it actually would. Oh just curious, when you said both barrels would be traumatic, did you mean for a person or the gun or both? I'll take your word for it though, and not try a double blast.

Well if it seems like it COULD be fun, bring out and TRY it! Hell I am sure it would be great fun! Even more so if you hit the birds!

P.S. I recently took my FIRST shots with a single shot full chokes 410 at the trap range, it was well FUN, even though I didnt hit the bird everytime.

If I were to buy a coach gun it would have to be cheap because I don't have a job, are the chinese coach guns any good?
