Good to read, but I just hope this doesn't cheapen the Florida permits to the point of being useless. Mebbe this is "stealth" national CCW.

Police are OK with civilian employee pushing out-of-state gun permits

A Wheat Ridge gun dealer's project to encourage Coloradans to sign up for out-of-state concealed weapons' permits has passed muster with his police employer.
The Aurora Police Department was concerned about firearms instructor Rich Wyatt's activities as owner of Gun Smoke. Wyatt keeps stacks of Florida permit applications in the store, and hands them out to people who are not allowed to carry hidden guns in Colorado.
Florida law allows residents of other states to obtain Florida permits, which are good in 14 other states, including Wyoming and Utah. But not Colorado.
"Our research into the practice shows that it does not violate Colorado state or federal law," said Aurora police spokesman Mark Hellenschmidt.
Wyatt is a civilian police employee on leave from his post. Neither Wyatt nor Hellenschmidt would reveal the reasons for the leave, but said it has nothing to do with the permit issue. Wyatt remains miffed at his employer for even questioning his activities.
He said earlier this week that Aurora has no jurisdiction because his store is in Wheat Ridge.
