He came across as a clear and level-headed man.
He defended the CCW, and defended the NRA.."the NRA has cut back on 90% of their upcoming convention activities in Denver and I don't believe piling on an organization that had no connection with this tragedy is helpful or constructive"
Admittedly, the anchors gave the Gov. much more respect and fair treatment than Wayne LaPierre. The female anchor distorted certain things the Gov said when she attacked LaPierre.
Addendum: Bob Sheifer's sign off at the end of the show was a blatant call for more gun laws: [paraphrasing} He rattled off about the last 5 or 6 shootings...then said the NRA tells us that there are existing gun laws that prevented these people from having guns, but the fact is if these people hadn't had guns people wouldn't have died. Pres Candidate Dan Quayle said he hoped that this incident wouldn't be used to make more gun laws. Well Mr. Qualye people died because of guns and incidents like these are exactly why we should get to the bottom of it and prevent further gun deaths.
Note Shieffer by passed the fact that laws were broken prior to each incident and his subliminal message is in actuality total gun ban
