CNN.com is currently running a poll on the NRA's decision to pull the 2007 annual convention out of Columbus, Ohio after that city's recent decision to enact an assault weapons ban. The 3 day convention is worth about 15-20 million to the businesses in whatever city is the host. The poll is on the main page and there is a link to CNN's story about it on the main page also. Currently the vote is 59% that the NRA shot itself in the foot, to 41% right on target.

Just voted - the result so far was 41% positive for the NRA, 59% negative (what else would you expect from the sheeple who feed on CNN?)

I would imagine if NRA members were polled, the result woud be more like 99.950% positive. No matter what the CNN mopes say, LA PIERRE AND THE NRA ABSOLUTELY DID THE RIGHT THING, PERIOD!!!

Ask yourself this: What would The Founders have done?

So, according to the sheeple in the 59%, the Demosocialist maggots who run the Columbus city council should get to piss on the Bill of Rights and the NRA, its members and the firearms vendors who go to the convention should still meekly fork over $20 million+ to help pay for the destruction of our Constitutional right to arms??

"F" THAT.

You want to copy-and-paste the link, so they don't see a referrer back to an evil pro-rights site

Whether the NRA is right or not, this is also a poll on support for the AWB.

You're right about that, Guy. You can bet that the sheeple who let the likes of CNN do their thinking for them have been properly programmed:

"Black rifles = BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!"
".50 cal. rifles = BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!"
"11+ round magazines = BAAAAAAAAAD!"

There are 270-280 million people living in America (not counting illegal aliens). 50% of that number are gun owners. If ALL of that 135 to 140 million were TRULY COMMITTED to preserving the Bill of Rights, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Threr would be no such thing as an antigun politician sitting in office anywhere in this nation.

But that's not the case - American gunowners are like the rest of the American sheeple. They vote for those who would destroy our rights because "there are other issues to consider" or because their unions or friends tell them to.

Wake up, gun owners!!! There is NOTHING that is more important than protecting your RIGHTS as guaranteed by our Bill of Rights - ESPECIALLY your Right to keep and bear arms!!!

NOTHING!!!

However, the accetance of an "assault" weapon ban by the sheeple is but a symptom of a larger problem.

"Our" government has shown its true colors; in "our" government's worldview, the American people are expendable. In the wake of the September 11 atrocities, what did "our" government do? Did Mr. Bush come on national TV and proclaim, "My fellow Americans, we are at war with an enemy that is evil and cold-blooded. In order to guarantee the safety of our commercial aircraft, all Americans who can show proof of citizenship at time of boarding are hereby authorized by the office of the President of the United States to fly ARMED WITH A CONCEALED HANDGUN upon any commercial aircraft operating within the airspace of the United States."

Did "our" government take that step? NO. "Our" government issued an edict to destroy any hijacked aircraft - AND ITS PASSENGERS AND CREW - men, women and children, incinerate them all - if the aircraft refuses to obey orders to land.

"Our" government, "our" President would rather blow us out of the sky by the hundreds than allow us to do what they can't: Defend our jets from murdering suicidal hijackers.

"But we have skymarshalls." Yes, we do - on LESS THAN 5% of the planes in the air. This number is straight from TSA's own mouth. Pardon me if I don't feel all warm and cozy from the knowledge that 96%, 97% or even more of our jets and their human cargo are TOTALLY DEFENSELESS against a certain fiery death at the hands of psycho-hijackers or one of our own F-16 pilots. "Our" government can't afford to put skymarshalls on 100% of all commercial flights, but it can afford to blow up a plane full of innocent American citizens; WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???

So there you go, America - "your" government thinks it is MORE IMPORTANT to gut your Right to Keep and Bear Arms than to allow you to defend yourself; when you fly, you are on your own - and by the way, good luck killing your hijackers with your pillow, fleece blanket and bag of pretzels.
If you fail, don't worry, an F-16 will be there shortly to incinerate you and your children.

Yes, my fellow Americans, I advocate for armed passengers. I, know, I know - "YOU ARE CRAZY." Before you call me crazy though, ask yourself this:

WHY DO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CHEERFULLY ACCEPT THEIR ROLE AS DEFENSLESS TARGETS? WHY DO THEY CHEERFULLY ACCEPT THE GUTTING OF THEIR RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENSE?

Now ask who's crazy.

Cnn Vote

I voted but Ohio puts an acid taste in my mouth. My Great Grandfather was imprisoned there at Camp Chase as a prisoner of war 1864-1865.....

Uh-oh, 54% of responders say the NRA did the wrong thing by moving the convention. We need to hit this one harder, folks.

New URL for the vote... ?

NN is running a poll about the NRA's decision to pull out of Columbus,
Ohio for the 2007 convention because Columbus' City Council passed another
one of the goofy "assault weapons" bans. Let's hit 'em with lots of
"bullseyes" on the poll for moving it out.

The CNN Poll on NRA pulling out of Columbus can now be found below: It looks like we have the correct one here... but I just voted at this one...
