I know Zogby has Bush up +3 so who knows......
http://www.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/08/13/cnn.poll/index.html

"The vice president gets little credit for the economic record of the Clinton administration, and nearly half of all likely voters currently say there is no chance whatsoever that they would vote for him. "

'...nearly half of all...no chance would vote for Gore'(sic) If true, Gore has so far to go, it is hard to imagine.

However, Zogby is good and has be accurate through the primaries. CNN has been all over the map.

FWIW

When considering the electoral colleges thing and the "winner takes all delegates" aspects of the state-by-state battle, this in and of itself is not TOO relevant.

Look at Texas - There's no difference if bush wins 55% or 99% of the vote in Texas, he gets ALL the votes from Texas.

Now, if Bush can get 50% of CALIFORNIA, that would be something. Without California Gore is doomed, because of its large population - even though Bush doesn't really NEED it to win.

'Twould be a hoot if Bush won California - Go Nader!!!

Battler.

I know. The electoral college make for 50 different elections. I would like a +16 point lead vs the opposite no matter how general.

I'm in CA and all the soccer moms park by my house to take their kids to school. The get a look at my yard sign everyday. They are probably evenly split, but hopefully it puts Bush's name more positively in the public. It would be nice to carry CA.

Go Bush. Go Nadar.

Do you guys think that Florida is a lock for bush? Because of his brother?

If he can lock up Texas Florida and Wyoming thats a good start, a lot of people in Tex & Florida.

ober,
Last I heard, they think FL is in Bush camp; however, it could be considered 'in play'. So no, I don't think it is locked. Texas is locked -HUGE. Funny thing is, Ark & TN are in play.

Bush needs FL and Gore needs CA, either one gets both, and it is over for the other guy - pretty much. Bush better spend some time with his brother.

Bush's first stop after DNC is, get this, Carthredge(SP), TN (Gore's 'home' town). Hope Bush goes to FL, GA, and NC for Shoring up support. After that, he better camp out in Penn, OH, MI, IN, & IL.

Thanks for reply 46, here is what I just got off WND. Bush is leading in states with 341 electoral votes compared to Gore, who is leading in states with 96.

Hopefully that wont change much.
