The CMP program is now offering subsidized AR-15 competition level rifles and parts through their affiliated shooting organizations. The shooting association buys the rifle, and can transfer it to you, if you meet all requirements, and agree not to sell the gun for a minimum of four years...and there are other provisos..
Under the program, you could get a competition level Bushmaster (normally over $1200) for around $865, if you qualify.

Looks to be VERY worth doing...I have only dry fired the competition Bushmaster AR-15...that trigger was GREAT. You can read its specs at http://www.bushmaster.com/products/dcm/pcwa2s20dcm8.htm
If you belong to a CMP affiliate, make sure the officers know about this program, and are taking advantage of it.
