CMP-affiliated clubs in So. Cal.?

Can anyone recommend a CMP-affiliated club in the L.A. (or Orange County) area? I was thinking about purchasing an M1 rifle through the CMP; if anyone in Southern California has already done this and has any helpful suggestions to navigate the qualfication process, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Ed

The easiest way is to join the Garand Collectors Association for $20.00 per year. Check out their site!
This will satisfy your club affiliation for the CMP and it says that right on your membership paperwork you receive back.
Takes about 2 weeks to get your card.

Join CA's NRA affiliate State organization. That way your dues are going to preserve what's left of your 2nd Amendment freedoms. The NRA is fighting their battles in Washington while your State affilate is lobbying in Sacramento. -- Kernel

I joined the CRPA when I bought my CMP rifle. As a side benifit, they send you updates on CA specific legislation in their publication, "The Firingline".

Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions. I think I'm going to join CPRA.

Destructo6, how did you satisfy CMP's marksmanship participation requirements?

Thanks,
Ed

I'm a veteran, so I sent a copy of my DD214.

The Lytle Creek shooting range runs a CMP match every month. You can contact them or go/call, "The Armory of Orange" in Orange, CA (on Tustin Rd, between the 22 freeway and Chapman Ave). This shop specializes in Curio and Relic weapons, particularly the M1, so you could go to them for a quick function/safety check when you receive your CMP gun.
