I've been shooting a armalite ar-10T cut from 24" to 18" for awhile and it is still, at least for this skinny ole man very heavy. Dropped into my new local gun store and they had a cmmg .308 16" sst light barrel. WOW...it seemed so nice and light. well I kicked around picking it up for a few days and went back to get it. Of course it was already gone. Long story short I sold my ar-10 to a buddy and ordered the cmmg which should be here this weekend. It supposedly comes with a 1 moa guarantee and is patterned after the DPMS,sr-25 mags. Just curious if anyone here has one and might have any feedback?

My CMMG upper is .223, not .308. But, the 20" lightweight barrel is easily one MOA with an old K4 on top. They do good work.

When I was researching ARs in 308 I found some info stating that the CMMG lower had some dimensional compatibility issues w/ the other SR25/LR308 rifle brands.

I'll see if I can find it and will post it here.

I ended up going with a Bushmaster LR308 MOE mid length carbine and the SIG 716 carbine. The SIG is amazing... very well thought through and excellent fit and finish - however I believe it's a hodge podge of LR308 and Armalite AR10 parts.

mcb, that looks good. However, I'm fairly well set up for social work. :) Stick the Colt upper with irons back on it, and if I need more punch, use my Garand.

I put the CMMG upper on for visitations and discussions with Wily Coyote.
