CMC Shooting Star mags???

Dealer gave me two to try out, knowing I use Wilson's 8 rdr's...what I noticed is that whether the mags are loaded or not, I cannot load weapon without having to depress the mag release button...never happened before with WC on any of my weapons; for that matter, the factory mags from Colt and SA don't put up such resistance. Any thoughts as to solutions/problem?

The magazine catch could need smoothing up, the top edges of the magazines could need smoothing. I don't have any problems with CM magazines so I don't know what to tell you.

Everybody says to use W/R magazines because they are the "best" but I've had problems with the ones I have. If you have good luck with W/R magazines or whoever's and have problems with CM mags. stick with the others.

I use Shooting Stars almost exclusively since I first started shooting 1911. For the first several months I owned my 1911, I thought you had to depress the slide release everytime you seated a magazine in the gun. The mag went in to a certain pont and just stopped. Only because I hang out here, did I realize a couple of months later that other shooters just tap their mags home without using the release. Someone advise me just to give it a good whack. Now, I don't have to whack as hard. I don't know if that has to do with a broken-in mag. release or broken in Shooting Stars.

Not sure, what gun you're shooting but if it's a 1911, you might try a good whack on the the mag. bottom with the heel of your hand.
