Clip-draw

I'm new to this forum. It's great. I'm considering buying a Clip-draw to put on my Kimber Ultra CDP. Anyone have any experience with this product? Pros/Cons? Thanks.

It's a clever idea...
The concept worked with little revolvers...

But personally, I dont like it on my 1911.

I think it could work better in higher framed autos like some Astras and the CZ75 and those clones.

I've got one on my SA and like it. They are not a replacement for a good holster but they are a good addition. Definitely something good to have in your inventory.

When Reason Fails.....

I agree with George. I have them on all of my little J-Frame Smiths... I wouldn't think of having a snubby without one. But, I think they are awkward and a bit dangerous on a 1911.

BigMike, I believe they only make them for little smith revolvers and 1911's. I think putting one on a Beretta would be a bit like hooking up a boat trailer with velcro. I do wish they would make them for little carry autos though (PPK, Mak, etc.).

Those things kind of scare me. When I first saw them I thought they were a good idea, but now I'm not so sure. I've had a few meetings with Murhpy's law (thankfully, not with guns), and carrying a gun with an unprotected trigger, especially a gun that has no safety, raises red flags for me. But, to each his own.

I use one on my springfield compact and it works real well. I like mine a lot and have had no problems with it at all.It holds good and has less bulk than a holster.Just leave your shirt tail out and no one will know you are carrying

Count me a happy ClipDraw user. I have carried my Kimber Ultra Carry with one all summer, and I think this is the slickest rig going. No thickness of a holster, and I can just tuck my shirt over the butt of the pistol, and all is hidden but the clip! I bought another one for my Delta Elite, and that works great, too. It is not as secure as a holster. Think of it as an improved "Mexican" carry.

One more benefit: "gunning up" and "ungunning" was never easier. The clip stays on the gun, and there's nothing to thread through the belt.

With the thumb safety and the grip safety, I don't worry about the unprotected trigger when carrying cocked and locked. Ah, the beauty of the 1911 design!

I have one on my J frame. It is well built and the finish is very good.I realy like mine and would recommend it to anyone. They make the clip draw only for the J frame and 1911's.Tried to have them make one for my sig 220 and they said it wouldn't work on them.
