It seems in a last ditch effort to give his presidency some value, WJC is going to SEA. I say his visit is worth almost as much as Jane Fonda"s. He pisses me off to presume to speak for me or any of the other veterans of this time, since we were serving while he was ducking and dodging. UP his. Ray
 
Let's watch this carefully.

Remember, when the story first came out it was disclosed that Clinton intended to comply with Vietnamese law that requires flags of visiting heads of state to put their flags in subordinate positions. Meaning, the US flag would have to fly below Vietnam's flag. To do so would have violated US DoD policy which says the US flag is not to be in a subordinate position. Later it was disclosed that Clinton intended to comply with Vietnam's request. When that was made public, his fellow-travellers said no such action was considered.

Watch it closely. I'll betcha a steak dinner at the Waffle House the US flag is subordinated! Betcha, betcha, betcha.

I'm still trying to figure out why we are being so kissy-face with Vietnam. It's a frigging Communist country. We have to stay engaged with China, for economic and geopolitical reasons. But Vietnam? Why do we want to encourage trade with those tyrants?

And I'm still trying to figure out why we didn't call up the reserves, stage an amphibious landing at Haiphong, and drive inland to Hanoi...

Anybody suspect that maybe Clinton has already been there? Wouldn't surprise me if his '68 trip to Moscow included a sidetrip down to Hanoi to help torture some American POWS.
