"[NRA and we on TFL believe]...the rights of individual citizens are far, far more important than the safety of society as a whole. That's their argument and I just disagree with them." --Bill Clinton to Katy Couric this morning on whatever show she's on.

Well, I disagree with his stance on whether to cheat on his wife, but I'm not trying to pass legislation to make it illegal, am I? Nor am I trying to confiscate his weapon! He uses the usual Clintonisms to demonize the NRA and stress the 13 kids that are killed each day with guns. Funny he doesn't mention those who are saved with them.

If I might rant for a moment; I was watching C-span in the Senate yesterday. Laughtenburg, I guess that's his name, mentioned 'the fact' that we have no need of arms because we have people in uniform to protect us. He said, "...guns kill..." about 4 or 5 times, and the whole spiel was bologna!

I wish I was better at paying attention, I'd have started cussing years ago!
Let's keep the fires hot under the Senators and the Reps; they are very close to our last stand.

Sorry about the rant, but it's been a rough day.

Hey TMoney - What a coincidence. As I was reading your post, Clinton was actually on the radio (a Today Show clip) stating the lie of "13 children a day" are killed by gun violence. Once again he fails to state that of those 13, which by the way can be as old as 27 years, some are suicides and gang members shooting other gang members. Very few, I believe 2 of the 13, are actually accidents. Although tragic, I believe that is a small price to pay given that firearms are used over 2 million times a year to stop a crime, often without firing a shot.

Clinton and the democratic congress (in general) are hell-bent on taking away our rights and saddling us with layers of laws and regulations, not only regarding guns, but in every aspect of our lives. This is not paranoia; this is not statistics. This is merely an understanding of the current and pending legislation and how little a role we the citizens have in the process.

Boy, what a rant.......

"We could give the money back to you and hope you spend it right." President Clinton on budget surplus.
The Dems are Socialists. They think personal Freedom is hopelessly out of date. Many Americans agree.
The Founding Fathers are probably wondering why they even bothered.

I always hear about this "13"children a day. What(if any)statistics are they quoteing? Any idea what the real numbers are? Any sources out there that we know of???.

There are no faintly reliable statistics that bear this out. It is a classic example of Josef Goebbels' "big lie" technique -- tell a big lie often enough and it gets repeated and believed. Not the first time the Democrats have borrowed ideas from the Nazis. See www.jpfo.org for more details.

And hope you spend it right?
Who the hell cares how we spend our own money? Right or Wrong our money is our own damn money. If these socialist jerks like Clinton had there way - we would not get paychecks at all - just statments of contribution to the cause. They think all monies should belong to them and benifits should be handed out to the worthy.
I dont buy that and find it offense that people with such beliefs still walk the earth. I earn my own money. If I dont go out and make it - I dont get any money - no food for my 4 boys... No gas for the family's vans to go around town... no money to circulate in the economy. I dont get handouts, credits, or any special considerations... Unless I pay for it. I dont want anything that I dont pay for.
If I want something - I'll buy it, thank you.

What the hell was I talking about?
