So I've just been doing a bunch of reading on the whole S&W and Clinton laws and was wondering how many were still in effect. I know in Midway catalogs I read "ban was not renewed" all the time. I was also wondering about the law that said only the owner could shoot the gun. I love shooting my buddies guns. Is this law really going to happen or has Bush put a stop to it? Thanks all.
 
I have never heard of any law where the owner was the only one allowed to shoot a gun except for handguns in NY where only the owner, who has the gun on his permit, can possess it. PLease quote th elaw in question.

THe Federal Assault Weapons Ban was allowed to expire. Some states have their own version of it though, like New York and possibly CA.
