Clinton Housing

I just got an email forwarded to me. Here it is. I haven't verfied this yet, but it does sound just like the Clintons to let ANYBODY but them pay their way.

Snip...

Just in case your blood pressure wasn't up enough....

As you know, the Clinton's had to establish residence in New York for Hillary to run for the Senate. So they bought that big house-BUT there was no place for Secret Service which has statutory responsibility to protect the First Family.

So, a special 'safe area' was built.

NOW, the Clinton's are charging them rent! Perfectly legal....... hmmmmmmmm.

BUT...!

It just happens that their rent is about the same amount as the Clinton's' mortgage payment!

In short, we taxpayers pay for the Secret Service addition, AND the Clinton's mortgage!

Dang deal, eh?
What will it take for the American public to wake up?
----------------
Don't you just feel getting suckered again, fellow taxpayers?

I say let's pass this info throughout the length and breadth of this Nation to shake the American people into a heightened state of anger upon knowing they have been literally raped during their long sleep by no other than those trustees they have appointed to look after their interests....

Snip...

Why am I not surprised at that bit of news. They are also still soliciting donations from New Yorkers for some d*mn thing.

I'm afraid the only thing that will wake up the average American is for something/someone (a bureaucrat for instance?) to come up behind each and every one of them and grab their wallet.

My proposal...

Here's what would wake people up:

Suppose everyone got their pay in cash. No direct deposit or checks. You walked up to a desk (imagine a big room like the DMV) at your workplace, showed your ID, and they handed you a stack of cash.
But before you could leave the secured room and go use your cash, you had to stop at several other windows... the IRS window, the unemployment insurance window, the Social Security fund window, the state revenue window...etc., and peel off the appropriate amount of cash from your stack and hand it over. THAT would wake us up!

Now go a step further. Instead of just the omnibus IRS window, how about we break the federal tax collection into the real destinations:
- the deficit window
- the DOD $600 toilet seat window
- the DOJ sueing legitimate businesses window
- the aid to foreign dictators window
- the funding of obscene art window
- the using Air Force 1 to attend partisan fund-raisers window

The clinton's are still soliciting funds from the gullible to pay off their legal bills even tho hillary got the $8M book advance. Now I see that some publisher is offering bill $5M for a book from him.

RH - good idea. I believe that if withholding were done away with and people had to write a check every year for their income tax bill they would wake up.

It used to be the case in Switzerland that there was no withholding. At the end of the year you went down to tax office, told them how much you made, and paid it.

I don't know if it's still that way. (Where's mussi?)
It would sure put a crimp in government spending.

tax, tax

We've gone to submit forms with bills etc on how much we made that
year (before, it was the two precedent years) and then you have to pay
your taxes in three parts, usually in December, March and July. No
more personal payments. OTOH, we don't have the taxes immediately
deduced from our salaries.

However, since interests get taxed, you can reduce your tax liability
by 35% of the interests due if you tell the tax authorities how much
interests you got.

Social insurances get deducted immediately from your salary, but it's
up to the employer to pay, If he doesn't pay, he's in big doo-doo,
however. Withholding money for social insurances gets your behind
busted fast.

RH, Your proposal sounds good but before you go to far with it I would suggest that you look up the story of Virginia Kellems and her run in with the IRS back about 1948.
Long story short, Withholding of taxes was started in WWII as a way of making it easy on war workers to pay their taxes. Like an Executive Order. After war Virginia Kellems started paying her workers full amount and showed them how to set up accounts to hold taxes to be paid at end of year.
Result was that SCOUS said that withholding was a tax and you have to use it.
And Bob Dole personally stopped the first independent outside audit of the IRS in 1981 when he became President of the Senate.
