The thought of a Clinton (any Clinton will do) on the Gore ticket resulted in a visual memory of the Dukakis run against Bush, Sr., I believe. I think it was a McNeely cartoon. Anyway, the panel featured a large bomb complete with small propeller in the front and tail fins in the back. The bomb had two cockpits. The first was occupied by Dukakis (I believe he was wearing the same headgear he wore while in the tank). The second cockpit was empty and had a sign posted below it. The sign said, "Co-pilot Wanted."
I think that cartoon is quite appropriate of the Gore campaign. This guy is in trouble which means Bill is in trouble. Remember, Gore wins, Bill walks off unmolested, so to speak. Gore loses and Bill has major problems because no longer will the assets of the federal gov't be used to protect him from his past. Clinton/Clinton/Gore can not lose. If Gore continues his slow-motion crater before the convention look for some drastic move by Clinton 1) to boot out Gore or 2)take over the ticket or 3)figure some way to keep the election from happening or 4)allow the election to happen but keep the next president from assuming power.
Am I paranoid? Given the last 7+ years, what part is impossible.
