Clearing a Rimlock in my Mosin Nagant.

Still getting used to stripper clips in my Mosin Nagant. But I still manage to get the top round "rimlocked" against the next round every now and then.

What's the best way to "unlock" those rounds?

I've had to drop the magazine to get them out and unlocked. There must be a better way.

I found that if you just try to work the bolt and move it back and fourth it will fix it. I used stripper clips the last time i went shooting and i purposely put the rounds in so the would rim lock and it only wouldn't feed the first round. After that it worked like normal.

If yours won't feed, the best thing to do is drop the mag plate like you did.

Yep dumP the mag.

It happens, the mosin is a little more forgiving than my enfield, I try to be careful. I haven't tried stripper clips.

When you have a rimlock, it is generally the first round after you have employed a stripper clip. All you need to do is to take a small screwdriver & depress the interupter on the left side of the magwell. This will release the top round & you then can remove it.
